Dear Members of St. Lukes,

As previously announced, a Special Congregational Meeting of St. Lukes Lutheran Church will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, following the Unity Service in the Sanctuary. The purpose of this meeting is to consider and vote on the pastoral candidates presented by the Call Committee.

Confirmation of the Special Congregational Meeting

The St. Lukes Constitution provides that the President may call a special meeting of the congregation. In my capacity as President of the Administrative Council, I hereby formally confirm the Special Congregational Meeting previously announced to the congregation. The date, time, location, and purpose of the meeting remain unchanged.

The two pastoral candidates to be considered are:

  • Rev. John A. Dehne
  • Rev. Nycholas C. Greig

Attached to this email are:

  • The Agenda for the Special Congregational Meeting
  • Pastoral Candidate Information

We encourage all voting members to review these materials carefully in advance of the meeting.

In addition, Wes Sheaffer will be setting up equipment in the Fellowship Hall so that members will have an opportunity during fellowship hour Sunday, August 23 to view a sermon from each pastor. We hope this will provide another opportunity for members to become familiar with the candidates prior to the congregational meeting.

We respectfully ask all voting members to make every effort to attend this important meeting in person. For those who are unable to attend, proxy voting will be available. In accordance with our proxy policy, a Confirmed Member who is unable to attend may designate another Confirmed Member to act as their proxy for purposes of voting at the meeting.

The selection of our next pastor is an important decision in the life and future of St. Lukes. We look forward to coming together in prayer and thoughtful consideration as we discern God's direction for our congregation.

Thank you for your prayerful participation in this important process. We look forward to seeing you on August 30.

Blessings,

Steve Tate | President, Administrative Council

Nancy O’Brien | Chairperson, Call Committee
