Open to all students in the community, St. Lukes offers FREE tutoring services in all subject areas. Tutoring sessions take place on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th (if applicable) Tuesdays at 5:30 PM (calendar follows Washoe County Schools). Children will be served dinner. Transportation is available as needed. Tutors are always needed to help our children succeed. Contact office@stlukesreno.org for more details.

Alongside five other local Lutheran churches, we collect, assemble, and distribute 84 bags of food to those in need living in motels on 4th Street once a month. 

As opportunities come available, our Short Term Missions ministry coordinates small groups of members to serve internationally on mission trips in various locations. Most recently, we've sent missionaries to Slovakia to lead bible studies for students with Spiritual Orphans Network. We've also sent missionaries to build houses and work in vision clinics with BASIC Nicaragua, and continue to provide scholarships to Nicaraguan students to continue their education.

A group of creative members meeting once a month, this ministry crochets and knits a variety of products, ranging from hats, scarves, baby blankets, and lap blankets, to shower mats made out of plastic bags to donate to homeless. Everyone is welcome and training will be made available for those interested in learning a new skill. 

The Lutheran Early Response Team (LERT) is a group of individuals who have completed training with the LCMS's Disaster Response ministry to provide immediate and long-term assistance to our local and surrounding communities following natural and man-made disasters.
